Abstract

Toat Kurniawan, NIM 15PSC01712. Study of Literature Sociology and Character Education Value in Anthology of Tirani Poem By Taufiq Ismail and Its Relevance as Literary Material in Senior High School. Thesis. Language Education Study Programme, Graduate Programme, Widya Dharma Klaten, 2017. This research has objectives to: 1) describe the context of poet’s social culture in anthology of Tirani poem by Taufiq Ismail, 2) describe the reader’s response toward anthology of Tirani poem by Taufiq Ismail, 3) describe character education value in anthology of Tirani by Taufiq Ismail, 4) describe the relevance anthology of Tirani poem by Taufiq Ismail as literary material in Senior High School. This research used describtive qualitative method, it is writen data: word, phrase, caluse, and setence, with sociology approach toward anthology of Tirani by Taufiq Ismail, that is contained 18 poems. The technicque of collecting the data are: 1) literary tecnique, 2) questionnaire, 3) observation technique, 4) writing technique toward anthology of Tirani poem by Taufiq Ismail as primary data and collecting secondary data is to support the required data. The data analysis used interactive analysis the contains 4 component, namely: 1) data collection, 2) data reduction, 3) data presentation, 4) drawing conclusion, and verivication. The result of this research and conclusion are: 1) the contex of poet’s socio-cultural in anthology Tirani poem by Taufiq Ismail are poet’s as historycal subject, poet is part of history, poet as historical recorder, historical lover, 2) the riders responses toward anthology of Tirani poem by Taufiq Ismail involve the beginner readers are from the student, the profecient readers from teachers and lectures, and the professional readers are from artists,cultural observers, historians, 3) character education value in anthology of Tirani poem by Taufiq Ismail involves 18 character values, 4) the relevance of the Tirani poem by Taufiq Ismail as literary material is suitable with syllabus and basic competence in the tenth grade of Senior High School, namey: theme, content, meaning, message, and atmosfer in the poem.
