Abstract

ABSTRACT Heranov Royan W., NIM. 1522100930, Accounting Study Program of the Faculty of Economics, University of Widya Dharma Klaten, Thesis Title: "Effects of Foreign Ownership, Managerial Ownership, Institutional Ownership, Family Ownership, Leverage, and Sales Growth in Manufacturing Companies in the Consumer Goods Industry Sector Listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016-2017". The purpose of this study was to examine (1) the effect of ownership on profitability, (2) the effect of managerial ownership on profitability, (3) the effect of institutional ownership on profitability, (4) the effect of family ownership on profitability, (5) the effect of leverage on profitability, (6) the effect of sales growth on profitability. The population in this study is the consumption sector manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016-2017. Sample selection using purposive sampling technique, obtained 60 companies that meet the sample criteria in this study. The analytical methods used include descriptive statistical tests, classic assumption tests, normality tests, multicollinearity tests, heteroscedasticity tests, and autocorrelation tests, coefficient of determination analysis, multiple linear regression tests and hypothesis tests using the F-test and t-test. The results of this study indicate that ownership does not oppose profitability, but managerial ownership has a positive effect on profitability, while institutional ownership and family ownership do not involve profitability, leverage has a positive effect on profitability, and sales growth does not match profitability.
