Abstract

Successful teaching and learning process is partly determined by the quality of a lesson plan. According to 2006 curriculum, every teacher must construct lesson plans for their own teaching and learning activities. During guiding and facilitating English teachers in a Teacher Profession Training Program (PLPG) in Surakarta region, the writer found some problems faced by teachers. This paper covers providing lesson plan which discusses the importance of providing it, a glance of English materials for junior and senior high schools, some problems found, alternative solutions of the problems. To at least help teachers formulate achievement indicators, the writer would offer alternative solutions. To provide alternative solutions concerning achievement indicators, which in turn are very crucial in determining learning materials, learning activities, and evaluation, Richards suggests micro and macroskills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing as listed on the appendix of this writing. key words: lesson plan, achievement indicator, micro skills, macro skills.
