Abstract

ANDI CAHYONO. 15PSC01713. Teaching and Learning Accurate Words Pronunciation (A Case Study at Class X TKJ SMK Negeri 1 Sragen in Academic Year 2011/2012. Thesis. Graduate Program of Language Education Widya Dharma University Klaten. The problems of the study are (1) How is the teaching and learning accurate word pronunciationat class V TKJ 1 SMK Negeri 1 Sragen in academic year 2011/2012?, (2) Why does the teaching and learning accurate word pronunciationat class X TKJ1 SMK Negeri 1, Sragen in academic year 2011/2012 happen as it is observed? The theories used in this study are (1) teaching and l earning, (2) analysis, (3) pronouncing words, (4) analyzing the pronunciation of words, (5) principles of case study, and (6) teaching and learning word pronunciation. This research is done during teaching and learning process of word pronunciation at class X TKJI SMK Negeri 1 Sragen in academic year 2011/2012. The sources of the data are informan, event, and documents. The informan is the teacher of Indonesian Language. The event is the teaching and learning process word pronunciation at class X TKJ 1 SMK Negeri 1 Sragen. The data are collected by doing observation, interview, and documentation. To check the validity, the data are triangulated, then, are analyzed. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that 1. (a) after explaining the lesson, the teacher points a student to pronounce a certain word, (b) the students look happy in doing their tasks, (c) the teacher applies question and answer, and lecturing methods. 2. The causes of the teacher doing those are (a) the teacher points a student to pronounce a certain word in order that the students are active, (b) students look happy because they want to be confident in exposing their ability, (c) the methods used are appropriate because question and answer, and lecturing methods can create an active learning.
