Abstract

Rasbai Setyo Atmojo.12PSC01429. Learning of Summarrizing The Contains of a Book (A Case Study in Fifth Second Semester Grade of Elementary School Sendang, Wonotunggal, Batang of the Academic Years 2012/2013). Thesis. Language Study Program. Graduate Program, Widya Dharma University Klaten. The Issues in this research are: 1) How did the activity learning of Summarizing the contains of a book in the fifth second semester grade of elementary school Sendang, Wonotunggal, Batang of the academic years 2012/2013?; 2) Why was learning of Summarizing the contains of a book in the fifthsecond semester grade of elementary school Sendang, Wonotunggal, Batang of the academic years 2012/2013 was implemented as when the observation were made? Theory that used are learning, the skill of teacher in the teaching and learning, summarizing the contains of a book, material learning, method of teach, learning media, evaluation, and case study. Research conducted a case study that took place at fifth grade of elementary school Sendang. Used seven step to prepare data, that is observations, transcription, transferring data into multicolumn, durative segments, organizing data depend on the theme, formulating data on the propotitionalization, reducing data. And five steps for analyze the main data, are to be analyzed, to be interpreted, to be summarized, to be conclude and the implied, to be recommended and to be predicted. The results can be summarized as follows: (a) teacher did learning activity as a theory that is do open activity, main activity, and ending activity, with more questions, in the ending was homework; (b) All students was active, gave respon to teachers, did presentation; (c) material’s show is summarizing activity with read, looking for main ide on the paragraf, and pharsed tobe a summary; (d) documents that use is learning planning and silabus; (e) source book use Indonesian book packet; (f) the text as media and blackboard. Based on the results analyzed becan be summarized on the bove conclude that: 1) learning of summarizing the contains of a book in the fifth second semester grade of elementary school Sendang, Wonotunggal, Batang of the academic years 2012/2013 less successful, it can be viewed from: a) teacher: teacher did learning activity as a theory that is do open activity, main activity, and ending activity, more question with speed or quick tempo; b) students: active with full questions; c) material: not detail; d) document: learning planning and silabus; e) source book: Indonesian book packet; f) media: text paragraf and blackboard. 2) the reason were: (a) the teacher had language logat very quickly; (b) student gate more questions; (c) without another material; (d) without another document; (e) lacking book source; (f) without another media.
