Abstract

SITI MAQFIROH, 13PSC01567. The Teaching and Learning on Critisizing Work of Art . (A Case Study in Grade VI SDN 1 Penyangkringan Kecamatan Weleri at theFirst Semesterof the Academic Year 2014/2015). Thesis Magister Programme Widya Dharma University, Klaten. 2013. The problems studied in this thesis are (1) How is the teaching and learning process oncritisizingwork of art in grade VI SDN 1 Penyangkringan Kecamatan Weleri at thefirst semesterof the academic year 2014/2015?; 2) Why does the teaching and learning process oncritisizingwork of art in grade VI SDN 1 Penyangkringa Kecamatan Weleri at thefirst semester of the academic year 2014/2015 occur as it is observed? The theory used in this study were drawn from several different sources. The theory used are the theory of learning, the teacher's role in learning, speaking, the meaning of art work critique, the objective of art work critique, aspects needed to discuss in art work critique, and methods of critisizingart work. The method used was qualitative in form of case study conducted in the teaching and learning oncritisizingwork of art in grade VI SDN 1 Penyangkringan Kecamatan Weleri at thefirst semesterof the academic year 2012/2013. The research data obtained through 1) observation, 2) interviews, and 3) study of records/documents. The main data acquisition is done by seven steps: 1) observation, 2) textualization, 3) multicolumn, 4) segmentation, 5) thematization procedure, 6) propositionalaziation, and 7) reduction. Testing the validity of the data is done by triangulation and triangulation of data sources. Data were analyzed through the procedures 1) described, 2) interpreted, 3) summarized, 4) concluded, and 5) predicted follow-up. The data which researcher has found in this study are; 1) teacher doesn’t explain the objectives of lesson and indicators. He can’t manage the time properly so that the evaluation doesn’t run well. Moreover, the teacher is expert on the material that he thought, also in the last meeting he has made conclusion and encouragement; 2) in the beginning, students are passive on answering teacher’s questions but by the time they can enjoy the lesson and be active on the learning, in the class discussion students are more passive 3) the materials that has been taught is too wide so that the learning seems in hurry 4) the implementation of methods use many variation which are lecturing, question and answer, assignment and discussion but unfortunately the class discussion method is not precise; 5) learning media only use a whiteboard From the analysis of data, it can be concluded that : 1)teacher; a) is not able to open the lesson because the teacher doesn’t deliver the objectives of lesson and indicator, b) cannot manage time well because the evaluation is not carry out 2) students; they are passive on class discussion because there is no question and answer, input or objection 3) material: is too wide, it seems teacher in a rush when deliver the lesson 4)methods; a) teacher uses many variations of methods, it consists of lecturing, question answer, assignment and discussion, b) implementation of discussion method is not precise because it doesn’t involve moderator and secretary, 5)learning media; only use a whiteboard to draw table.
