Abstract

Slamet Suroso, 15PSCO1697. “Increasing Narrative writing skill through Mind Mapping Method (Class Action Research for Students VII D Junior High School Negeri 2 Sapuran Wonosobo Semester II Tahun Pelajaran 2015/2016)”. Thesis. The Language Education of Graduate Programme. Widya Dharma University, Klaten. 2017 The aims of the class action research are: (1) improve the expressions of the learning process writing with applying the method of mind mapping, (2) showing method of mind mapping can improve the ability to write narrative. This is a class action research that is collaborative research, cooperating with another teacher to create a better learning proses. The location of this research was in the VII D Junior High School Negeri 2 Sapuran Wonosobo which was done in two cycles, four steps for each cycle, those are: (1) planning, (2) acting, (3) observing and interpreting, (4) analyzing and reflexing. The problem in learning process could be solved by an applying of mind mapping method. Student skills in increasing narrative writing. The average of the score in pre - cycle was 59, with classical mastery 4,34%. In 1 st cycle, the average of the test score was 69,2 with classical mastery reached up to 21,74%. In 2 nd cycle, the average of the test score reached 81 with classical mastery reached up to 78,26%. Based on the action conducted, it can be concluded as follows: (1) the implementation of mind mapping method can increase the quality of writing learning process. (2) the implementation of mind method can increase the writring skill of grade VII D students of Junior High School Negeri 2 Sapuran Wonosobo, that is the minimum of 75% students reach 77 as the minimum criteria.
