Abstract

Sukono, No. 12PSC01443, Language Education Study Program, Graduate Program, Widya Dharma University, Klaten, 2017. Thesis: The Teaching and Learning of Summarizing Written Text on Working Context (A Case Study at Class XI Semester IV Study Program of Audio Video Technical Skill of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Jatinom in Academic Year 2012/2013). The problems of this research are: (1) How is the implentation of the teaching and learning of summarizing written text on working context at Class XI Electronics Department Study Program of Audio Video Technical Skill of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Jatinom, Klaten regency in Academic Year 2012/2013? (2) Why does the implementation of teaching and learning of summarizing written text on working context at Class XI Electronics Department Study Program of Audio Video Technical Skill of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Jatinom, Klaten regency in Academic Year 2012/2013 take place as seen in observation? The research is done in SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Jatinom, Klaten regency. This research is descriptive qualitative with case study method. The data sources used are activities of teaching and learning process, the teacher of Indonesian language subject, the students of class XI of Audio Video Technical Skill, and the relevant documents. The technique of collecting data is a seven-step technique of supplying primary data, which are then analyzed by a five step technique of analyzing primary data. There are sixty two statements of data identity with forty five relevant data in the form of primary data units. Primary data units are analyzed by describing the involvement of teacher and students. Based on the analysis on primary data units, it can be concluded that 1. The implementation of teaching and learning of summarizing written text on working context at Class XI Electronics Department Study Program of Audio Video Technical Skill of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Jatinom, Klaten regency in Academic Year 2012/2013: (a) The teacher comprehends the teaching and learning material, (b) The teaching and learning source used is student worksheet, (c) The teaching and learning media used is blackboard, (d) The teaching and learning method varies, (e) The students are responsive in teacching and learning, (f) The teacher does teaching and learning evaluation in the form of written essay test. 2. The causes are: (a) The teacher does teaching preparation by making lesson plan, (b) All students have student worksheet, (c) The teacher already uses student worksheet, (d) In order that the students are not bored and easy to understand the teaching and learning material, (e) The teacher uses discussion method in delivering the material, (f) The material competence is related to summarizing technique.
